CGAN July 2014 Challenge - The Big Ad Job - WIPs was created by Charlotte
Let's all pretend for a minute that we're a big, fancy and rich company and we'll be marketing this great, brand spanking new forum all over the place. But for that we need an advertisement image of the most awesomest kind. So here goes, the very first monthly challenge on the CGArtNexus forums:

Title: The Big Ad Job
Brief: You've been hired to make an advertisement (format has not been decided, it may be poster or a banner, either vertical or horisontal, or some other format: you choose) för the fantastic new product the CG Art Forums. Since the forums mainly deal with digital fantasy or sci-fi art this should be reflected in the advertisement. The name CG ART NEXUS should also be included.

Deadline: Thursday July 31st, by midnight GMT.
This is where you posts your wips (works in progress). You final entry should be posted over here: www.cgartnexus.com/index.php/forums/curr...lenge-the-big-ad-job

Rules in brief:
  • All challenge entries must be your own work.
  • You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
  • Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
  • No chatter in the finals thread – if you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
  • Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
  • Deadline is given in UK time (midnight GMT) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
  • Each member may cast one set of votes, for their 3 favourites.
  • No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.

That's a good first challenge theme. I'll definitly think about it - after the great heat this weekend here in germany, also known as new-africa :lol:

Nice idea! I especially like the variability of the format. A banner would look cool. Or maybe a badge or something like that would be pretty fun!

I'm pretty sure I already replied to this, but it seems to have gone!

Anyhoo, I was just saying that I thought that the idea of having freedom with the format is a great idea. We could do a banner or even a badge. Both would be cool!

Yes you did post, but in the finals thread. Twice now. :P But it's OK, it's a new forum and us admins can use a bit of practice moving things about. :)

Could it be nice to know why this place is called CG art nexus? Can someone explain it to me? ^^ maybe its an awkward question but ... :oops: B)

Cherry, we're mostly working digitally so that's CG (Computer Graphics), Art is self explanatory I think, and Nexus is a sort of gathering place and a term often used in sci-fi so we felt it was appropriate.
